Quarley Fete - September 2004 Update
Thank
you so much for your support for the Barbeque in June. We
raised a total profit of £1260.00, and have therefore given cheques for £630.00
each to the Village Hall Trustees and to the Church. This will help fund the
ongoing expenses of the new kitchen in the Hall, and the never ending list of
repairs to church. We were lucky with the weather again this year, but the success of the Barbeque was largely down to the hard work the committee put in getting things ready, the generosity from Nick Geaney of the Five Bells in Nether Wallop who provided the Hog Roast and helped in many more ways, and the generous loan of various gas heaters than meant we all enjoyed sitting, chatting, drinking and dancing much later than we would have done otherwise! We
now need to start organising next year's Fete and Barbeque. These things are
generally more successful and more fun with a constant flow of new fresh ideas
and enthusiasm from those who are helping to organise it. Please could you think
about this and let us know your ideas, especially if you would like to join the
committee. Please
contact Lois Opperman (tel: 889549, email: qvf@sidelock.com)
with any suggestions or comments and for details of the next committee meeting
if you would like to either join the committee or just discuss some suggestions.
