Quarley Village Hall
If
you have been in the hall recently, you will have noticed that the new kitchen
is complete. We were lucky enough to receive a grant for £863 from the
Hampshire Recreation and Heritage Committee, and £300 from
the Parish Council. (TVBC were unable to help when asked.) Despite these
generous donations, we have had to dig deeply into our reserves. However, it is a slow process. We
are extremely grateful for the very large donation received each year from the
Village Fete, without which we could not continue. It costs £650 to insure the
hall each year, electricity is over £600, as is oil for heating. Then there are
standard electrical tests, maintenance of the boiler and fire extinguishers and
water and heating bills, before the first repair is made. With the new kitchen the rates are:
This is still very reasonable and we hope you will continue to use it as much as possible. Also,
we are very much in need of a person to do the cleaning, so if you would like to
earn a bit of extra money at hours to suit yourself, here's your chance. The
trustees are always glad to receive any constructive comments or help, and if
you have any ideas for fundraising events, do please get in touch. -
